Caption: There was bush fire on the outskirts of the community and I took photos of our local volunteer fire department battling the small blaze. I was so impressed with how well they worked together as a team to put out the fire. No one was injured. |

Churchill River is an important source to first nations communities and has history from many traditional territory, stories, Traplines, and the beginning of the fur trade. This river has played a role that changed first nations lives by letting the settlers come into the lands. |

They bring together the elders and youth to learn about traditional teachings and preparing various meals; goose, moosemeat, fish and bannock throughout the week. These three young boys were running about in the camp causing mischief and their grandmother called them over to help her cook. I was amazed at how they respected her and sat quietly helping. |
